2022 Software Engineers Scholarship is Awarded: the First Ever Grant Issued by Glorium Technologies to Support Young Tech Talent

Technological advances have catapulted software engineering to the forefront of the business world, making it incredibly important. Software development will become even more vital as technology continues to permeate every aspect of human lives.

Keeping this in mind, Glorium Technologies offers career opportunities to future software engineers. Our company is happy to provide educational grants to high school seniors and college graduates interested in studying software development and technology on a regular basis.

We encourage talented student scholars to pursue careers in technology and achieve their academic goals. Glorium Technologies is proud to announce the winner of the 2024 Software Engineers Scholarship program for high school and college students. The contest winner was chosen from two rounds based on the ability to do research and write a unique essay.

1st Place is taken by Landon Harris from Royse City High School. The total scholarship distribution for the 2024 Scholarship is $1,000.

In the first round, 82 students from different colleges around the USA applied for the scholarship through the platform bold.org and performed a task on writing an essay. The essay had to be at least 1000 words.

The participants were asked to select one topic and write about how technology affects the progress in the healthcare ecosystem of the world, describe wearable devices` impact on human beings, or describe how certain global tech trends will be relevant in 2030.

The jury committee of Glorium Technologies included seven people. The jury members examined each application and essay carefully to have a closer look at every single detail.

The main criteria were compliance of the content with the stated topic, the ability to express one’s own view of the problem (challenge), argumentation, availability of statistics, infographics, originality and authenticity, and literacy.

All 82 applications were carefully assessed by employees of Glorium Technologies who work on creating content and PR relations for the company.

4 initial members of the jury picked their top-5, and ranked them: 5 points were awarded to the winner, 4 to the runner-up, 3 to the third-place, 2 to the one in the 4th place, and 1 point to an applicant ranked 5th.

Out of 82 applicants, some surnames came up in multiple juries shortlists.

Those applicants were Marquis Skinner, Alexus Morse, Landon Harris, Jacob Schulmeister, Amber Parker, Jovin Peroco, and Anantya Kasturi.

14 different applicants total were mentioned by at least one member of the jury. The final table looked like this:

The remaining three members of the jury, the ones with profound technical background (software engineers and project managers), participated in assessment of applications.

They assessed Top-7 essays (applications of whose who were mentioned 2+ times in the shortlists).

Two out of three jury members with technical background put Landon Harris’ work atop of their list.

Hence, according to the assessment of the majority of members, Landon Harris was nominated for 1st place.

The winners did an excellent job discussing both sides of healthcare technologies and their impact on human beings and technology progress in general,” said Julia, Editor-in-Chief of Glorium Technologies and a judging team member. “Still, the main winner is Landon Harris, whose exploration of artificial intelligence to personalize medicine, which would completely transform the medical industry, was noticed by a large majority. We are honored to recognize his work and achievements.”
